Support for the Kazakhstan Boccia Federation

Since 2025, the private AÑSA Foundation has been the official partner of the Kazakhstan Boccia Federation. The partnership focuses on developing parasports in Kazakhstan, supporting the national boccia team, and promoting Kazakhstani athletes on the international stage.

The main goal of this collaboration is to create opportunities for athletes with disabilities to participate in major global competitions and to foster a culture of inclusion through sport.

What is Boccia?

Boccia is a Paralympic sport that enhances coordination, precision, and strategic thinking. Players compete by trying to place leather balls as close as possible to a target ball known as the jack. The game demands intense focus and tactical planning, making it a highly intellectual discipline accessible to individuals with motor impairments.

Boccia has been part of the Paralympic Games since 1984 and is now played in over 70 countries around the world. Kazakhstan is actively developing its own boccia school, training athletes to compete at the international level and regularly participating in tournaments organized by the Boccia International Sports Federation (BISFed).

The growth of this sport plays a key role in expanding opportunities for people with disabilities, promoting social inclusion, and fostering respect for inclusive values within society.

AÑSA Foundation’s Support Covers Key Areas of the Kazakhstan Boccia Federation’s Work:

1. Hosting International Competitions

In 2025, Kazakhstan hosted the Astana 2025 World Boccia Challenger for the first time-one of the year’s largest events included in the qualification cycle for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, USA. The tournament brought together 56 para-athletes from 12 countries and was held at a high organizational level, earning strong praise from the Boccia International Sports Federation (BISFed).

2.  Development and Support of the National Team

AÑSA provides support for the training of Kazakhstan’s national boccia team, ensuring the participation of para-athletes and coaches in international competitions, as well as organizing training camps.

3. Promoting Inclusive Sports

The AÑSA Foundation, in partnership with the Federation, implements initiatives to raise awareness about boccia, conduct educational events, and shape a positive image of Kazakhstan as a country that actively supports the development of parasports.
