Early achievements on the big stage
Alen Basen is a ten-year-old cellist from Almaty and a student at the K. Baiseitova Boarding School. He has successfully participated in national and international music competitions.
- At the 37th International Music Competition Rovere d’Oro in Italy, Alen received the maximum score of 100 out of 100 in the “Young Talents” category.
- In 2026, he won the Grand Prix at the Republican Performing Arts Olympiad in Kazakhstan.
- In 2025, he took first place at the International Music Competition Suoni di Venezia in Venice and second place at the Astana Sounds International Junior Competition.
AÑSA Foundation’s support covers two areas:
1. Acquisition of a Professional Instrument
The Foundation has allocated funds to acquire a professional concert cello, bow, and case. The cello is being commissioned from Polish luthier Wojciech Topa, who creates string instruments for professional musicians.
The new cello will help Alen further develop his performance technique, master more challenging repertoire, and prepare for concert performances.
2. Named Scholarship
The Foundation has established a named scholarship for Alen, which he will receive until he reaches adulthood. This long-term support will allow him to focus on his studies and professional development.
AÑSA Foundation is committed to ensuring that talented young people in Kazakhstan have the opportunity to develop their abilities and pursue a future in the fields they are passionate about. This requires not only recognition of their early achievements, but also consistent support throughout their years of study. By supporting young musicians today, the Foundation is investing in the future of Kazakhstan’s cultural landscape.
